Bulldogs Ready for Warriors

BUFFALO, N.Y.-Each of the past two seasons Burgard has lost to Cheektowaga. This Saturday the Bulldogs get another crack at the Warriors with the division title on the line.

Both teams bring perfect 5-0 records into the game. The Bulldogs Darlell Sanders told Two On Your Side’s Stu Boyar “its what we’ve been waiting for. Its the game we want. Its the game we need. We’re going to show them what Burgard really is about this coming Saturday at two o’clock.” Kobie Greene told Stu “we’ve been talking about this game all week. This week is going to be straight serious, focus. We can’t play around this is a war game. Last year, unfortunately we lost to them now we’re focused on going into their place and beating them.”

Burgard’s defense has made life tough for opponents all season. They are fast and physical and will be challenged by Cheektowaga’s speed. Head coach Jason Kolb told Stu “that’s the key matchup our defense against their offense. If we’re sure on tackles, they break a lot of tackles, their backs, so if we can make sure that we don’t over penetrate, we make sure we get good tackles I think we’ll be fine.”

Sanders said watching Cheektowaga on tape running back Marshawn Gibson jumped out at him. “That running back, # 5, that’s a good running back. We got to put the hits on him, that’s what we’re going to try to do put the hits on him. He’s leading in rushing yards that sparked me right there, that’s all I needed to know. Best running back in the league, I’ll say it.”

Saturday’s game is scheduled to kickoff at 2-o’clock at Cheektowaga.
