School: Santiago (Corona, Calif.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Forward
Height: 5-foot-6

Athletic achievement:She scored 19 goals and passed for five assists this past season, leading the Sharks (19-6-4) to the CIF-Southern Section Division II quarterfinals. A member of the U.S. Soccer Under-20 Women’s National Team, Munerlyn was the Big VIII League MVP despite missing 13 games due to various national team commitments. She concluded her prep soccer career with 63 goals and 17 assists.

Academic excellence: Munerlyn has maintained a weighted 3.76 GPA.

Exemplary character: She has volunteered locally as an elementary school tutor and teacher’s aide in addition to donating her time as a youth soccer coach.


“Amber could really change the game with her speed and intellect,” said Nick Lopiccolo, head coach of Roosevelt (Eastvale, Calif.). “She always seemed to score when they needed it to put us away. When she wanted to take it to that next level she did, and rarely did it not work in Santiago’s favor."

THE FUTURE: Munerlyn has signed with North Carolina.
