Newark seniors Rachel Carpenter and Brooke Pool celebrated signing their letters of intent to play collegiately Wednesday at the high school.

Carpenter, a setter, is headed to Caldwell (N.J.). Pool, an outside hitter, is headed to West Liberty State (W.Va.). Both are NCAA Division II schools.

As three-year members of the Wildcats’ varsity team, Carpenter and Pool helped Newark to a Division I district semifinal each season. In 2011, Newark finished as district runner-up.
