Megan Klecha smacked a ground-rule double to center field, driving in Rebecca Welch, as the Carteret High School softball team walked off with a 2-1 victory over J. F. Kennedy. Welch, who knocked in Carteret’s (2-1) first run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, had doubled to lead off the inning of Crystal Carlucci.

Carlucci went the distance for J.F. Kennedy (3-2) striking out 12 and walking none. All three hits that she allowed in the contest were doubles. She drove in the Mustangs’ with a double in the fifth inning.

Woodbridge 13, Elizabeth 2: Justine Stefura picked up two hits and knocked in four runs to lead Woodbridge (5-1). The Barrons pounded out 14 hits in the contest to back starting pitcher Carly Kjersgaard.

Perth Amboy Tech 21, Piscataway Tech 6: Yadelin Vargas collected four hits in five at-bats, including a three-run home run while Danielle Croteau and Taylor Colon each picked up three hits and an RBI for Perth Amboy Tech (2-2). L’Tanya Peacock chipped in two hits and Rajahnae Clark knocked in two runs for Piscataway Tech (0-3).

Metuchen 12, Cardinal McCarrick 2: Liane Cifrodelli and Samantha Hoffman each homered and knocked in two runs as Metuchen cruised. Nicole Camera picked up the victory in the circle and collected two RBI at the plate.

Wardlaw-Hartridge 22, East Brunswick Tech 0: Rachel Voeltzel picked up five RBI and Lacey Gress chipped in four RBI and four runs scored to lead Wardlaw-Hartridge (3-0). Victoria Cenegy doubled for East Brunswick Tech’s (0-4) lone hit.

Edison 9, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 7: Kerry Flynn and Ashley Hunt each knocked in two runs and Edison (1-4) withstood a furious rally. Amanda Schroder scored twice and picked up two RBI for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (1-4) as the Raiders scored five of their seven runs in the final three innings.

Timothy Christian 11, Woodbridge Academy 6: Lakiah Saydee went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI for Timothy Christian (4-0). Binathi Vennapusala picked up two hits for Woodbridge Academy.

Highland Park 20, Rutgers Prep 10: Carly Aversa collected three RBI and Sydney McManus-Smith knocked in two runs for Highland Park. Ashley Avicolli doubled and picked up two RBI for Rutgers Prep.

Spotswood 7, Middlesex 6: Trailing 6-4 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Alexa Raba hit a two-run home run to tie the game and Jill Reed knocked in Micaela McSpadden to lift Spotswood. Jessica Kennick picked up three singles and scored twice for Middlesex.

South Amboy 10, South River 3: Cheyenne Moskal, Sabrina Myers and Alexis Wojtowicz each knocked in three runs for South Amboy (2-2). Alyssa Andrejc picked up two doubles South River.

South Brunswick 8, North Brunswick 3: Melissa Mielko drove home two runs and scored twice to lead South Brunswick (3-1).
