Cathedral High School has named assistant coach Andy Auger as its new head football coach.

Auger replaces Dean Taylor, who resigned because of health reasons, after four season leading the Crusaders.

Auger has worked with the team for eight seasons over the course of two stints. Since 2009 he has served as a defensive coordinator assistant.

Auger played football and baseball at St. John’s University, where he was a punter and a tight end on a team that made the national semifinals.
