Chillicothe’s boys and girls teams got a good feel for SCOL competition Thursday in a tri-meet against Washington Court House and McClain.

The Cavaliers fared well, winning on the boys side with a team total of 17 points. The girls finished second with a team score of 35.

“We got a pretty look at our future competition,” Chillicothe coach Steve Semancik said. “I’m very pleased with what the boys were able to do, and I’m very pleased with the girls. We’re about where we want to be and I couldn’t be happier.”

Chillicothe’s boys took five of the top six places, including the top three.

Donovan Lowe finished first with a time of 17:57. Ben Haller was second (18:37) and Lander Zook third (18:39).

Anna Degarmo took the high finish for the girls with a second-place time of 21:54. Cassandra Parker was fifth (25:07) and Shania Conley sixth (25:37).

The Cavaliers will run again Monday at Piketon.
