Cheerleader uniforms on game night? Just fine. Cheerleader uniforms on game day? No way.
At least not in the hallways in the Pinellas School District (Largo, Fla.).
A number of schools in the district are banning the uniforms during the school day, saying the sleeveless tops with short skirts are a violation of the dress code.
Most parents are unhappy with the decision.
“If it’s an approved school uniform – which it was approved, by the administration, years ago – why is it out of dress code?” Christine Johnson, whose daughter is a junior on Countryside’s varsity squad, told the Tampa Bay Times.
“And why can they wear it in front of thousands of people at a football field if they can’t wear it on game day at school?”
Touché.
Thanks to Prep Rally for bringing this to our attention.
