Powered by the strong serving of Madison Lane and some balanced play on offense Wednesday night, the Chiles High volleyball team cruised to a three-game sweep of Godby, 25-9, 25-6, 25-9.
“Madison Lane was our team leader tonight with five aces,” Chiles coach Kaitlin DiLuzio said. “Overall, I think we had a lot of players step up tonight.”
“I think we did really well,” said Chiles senior Maddie Ruark, who contributed a pair of kills. “We practice serving daily, and we’ve gotten a lot better” “
Katie Doughty led the Timberwolves with four kills.
Godby coach Taylor Irvin said his players competed but didn’t have the experience to contend with Chiles.
Chiles’ next match will be Friday at Nease, while Godby will play at Florida High tonight.
