Chillicothe’s boys tennis team improved its record to 7-4 with a convincing 4-1 win against Logan on Monday. The Cavaliers swept all three singles matches. Nick Whalen (6-1, 6-1) and Frankie Whalen (6-2, 6-0) won in straight sets.
First singles players Noah Adams had a little trouble at the start, falling to Logan’s Ryan Lingerak 4-6 in the first set. Adams edged out Lingerak 6-4 in the second set before winning 6-1 in the third.
The second doubles team of Stephen Gilliland and Jacob Hirsch picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win against Logan’s Britton Mann and John Auker. The Cavs only blemish came in the first doubles match, with Noah Wright-Piekarski and Gabe Preston falling 7-5, 6-2 to Andrew Gregory and Nathan Kudlapur.
The Cavs will be back on the court Wednesday at Jackson.
