The Silver Lake College cross country team competed at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country National Championships in Syracuse, New York on Friday.
The event was hosted by the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). The competition included runners from colleges and universities from across the country.
The women’s race featured 146 runners. The Lakers were led by Mary Bettag’s 29th place finish with a time of 26:40. Taylor Vanden Plas finished 55th (28:15) and Sophia Chin placed 110th (32:14).
The Men’s 8K event featured 183 runners participating. The Lakers were represented by BJ Ropel, who finished in 79th place (32:01).
