Meagan Collins scored the game-winning goal with 12 seconds left as the Monsignor Donovan girls lacrosse team defeated Pinelands 14-13 in a Shore Conference Class B South game on Thursday.
Collins finished with a team-high five goals while Sarah Smith had four goals and two assists and Shawna Ingraham had three goals and one assist.
Pinelands’ Ali Herbert had five goals.
BRICK MEM. 15, BRICK 9: Victoria Sisbarro scored two goals in the first half to lead the Mustangs (1-5, 1-5) to their first victory of the season against the visiting Dragons (0-5, 0-4) in a Class A South game.
Taylor Geddes scored three goals, and Kara McGuire scored three goals and had one assist for the Dragons.
LACEY 19, MANCHESTER 14: Holly Brewster scored seven goals and Maura Weaver scored five goals to help the Lions (8-0, 6-0) remain undefeated season alive with a Class B South victory.
Kelli Serpi scored a game-high eight goals for the Hawks (3-4, 1-4).
In boys volleyball
RB CATHOLIC 2, WALL 0: The visiting Caseys (5-3, 5-1) dealt the Crimson Knights (6-1, 4-1) their first loss of the season in Class A Central.
For the Caseys, Kevin Brennan had two kills and seven digs. Pat Drum had two kills and three blocks. Ryan Farley had 17 assists and seven digs. J.P. Legrottaglie added seven kills and three digs. James Taylor contributed nine kills, seven digs and three blocks.
Wall’s Chris Smith finished with seven kills and two digs. Mike Smith added 16 assists. Ryan Donahue contributed five kills and five digs and Rick Wlazlowski contributed four kills.
CENTRAL 2, TR SOUTH 1: The visiting Golden Eagles (4-3, 4-3) upended the Indians (7-2, 3-2), winning the final game 25-21 in Class A South.
Ambrose Powell led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills, two blocks and four digs. Robert Gonzalez added 18 assists and two digs. Casey Rasso contributed 11 kills and nine digs and Casey Breidenbach added 12 digs.
For South, Scott Stueber had 13 kills and four blocks. Brian Sutera had eight kills and three digs. Joe Esposito had 31 assists. Alex Purpuro added 5 kills and three blocks. Trevor Signorino contributed seven kills.
FREEHOLD 2, COLTS NECK 1: The visiting Colonials (4-6, 2-4) beat the Cougars (5-5, 1-5) 25-22 in the final game in Class A North.
Trevor Mount keyed the win with 22 assists, 2 digs and three aces. Nick Krauss contributed six kills and six blocks. Pat Hannigan added four kills, two digs and two aces.
For Colts Neck, Jack Lind notched five digs and nine kills. Mike Lamb posted two blocks and seven kills. Dan Clayman contributed three aces and 19 assists.
SJ VIANNEY 2, MARLBORO 0: Paced by Bryan Walsh, Tom Corbisiero, Tyler DuLemba and Justin Sandy, the visiting Lancers (7-2, 5-1) downed the Mustangs (4-4, 3-2) in Class A North.
Walsh had five kills and five digs. Corbisiero notched 15 digs. DuLemba had three kills. Sandy finished with six kills and eight digs. Pacing Marlboro were Dylan O’Handley (14 assists, 10 digs), Bobby Jastzeski (nine kills, two blocks) and Drew Loeser (17 digs).
BARNEGAT 2, LONG BRANCH 0: Bobby Erickson’s eight assists and Ben Fraser’s six feeds paced the host Bengals (4-6, 4-2) past the Green Wave (0-9, 0-6) in Class A Central.
Frank Buckley added three kills. For the Green Wave, Hugo Sanchez handed out four assists and Axel Perez posted three digs.
TR NORTH 2, TR EAST 0: Jacob Iovino’s 15 assists and three kills and James Dellane’s three kills, three blocks, three digs and three assists propelled the host Mariners (5-3, 4-2) past the Raiders (1-6, 0-6) in Class A South.
For North, William Koch had eight kills and four digs. Joseph Gaboury contributed five kills and three blocks. Zachary Lynne scrapped for 12 digs. For East, Evan Turner had two blocks, five digs and seven kills. Jake Nicol added eight assists, two blocks and two digs.
DONOVAN 2, MANCHESTER 1: The host Griffins (2-6, 2-4) trimmed the Hawks (2-4, 2-3) 25-20 in the third game for a Class A Central win.
Senior setter Tyler Broo led the win with 31 assists. Senior middle blocker Jon O’Connor added 15 kills, four blocks and five digs. Senior outside hitter Zach Rayment contributed six kills, two blocks and six aces.
