Athletic achievement: He has led the Panthers to an 11-11 record and a berth in the upcoming Class L state tournament. Milone owned a .463 batting average with a .581 on-base percentage, three home runs, 26 runs scored and 28 stolen bases entering the postseason. A two-time All-State honoree, he was a Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason High School Second Team All-America selection.
Academic excellence: Milone has maintained a 3.24 GPA.
Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of youth sports camps and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
“Milone is just an amazing talent,” said Brian Hourigan, head coach at Oxford (Conn.). “He’s a legit five-tool guy. He gets a good read on the ball in center field and he has great, great speed. You almost think that any ball in the air is going to be caught.”
