Sophomore running back Eli Velez ran for a career-high 160 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Monmouth Regional High School football team to a 32-8 win over Hamilton West on Saturday in an NJSIAA consolation game.

Velez scored on runs of 31 and 18 yards.

Senior running back Dylan Brown scored on a 27-yard run and junior linebacker/quarterback Jimmy Green returned a fumble 25 yards for a TD. Eric Maxton booted field goals of 35 and 25 yards.

Green was 9-for-14 for 110 yards and Daryl Gamble had three receptions for 68 yards.

Monmouth (3-6), which snapped a five-game losing streak, will conclude its season on Thanksgiving Day when it hosts Shore Conference Class B North champion and Central Group III semifinalist Ocean (9-0) .

NEW EGYPT 22, KEANSBURG 20: The Titans (1-9) concluded their season under first-year head coach Chris Damian with the loss to the Warriors (2-7).

Junior Joey Rodriguez returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and sophomore Arkeyel Brown had touchdowns on a 48-yard reception from senior quarterback Kason Preston and a recovered fumbled punt in the end zone for Keansburg.

The Titans missed a 2-point conversion in the third quarter that would have tied the game.

ST. JOHN VIANNEY 47, KEYPORT 28: Senior quarterback Billy DeMato threw five touchdown passes — four of them to senior receiver Julanee Prince — as the Lancers (4-5) defeated the Red Raiders (5-5) on Friday night.

Senior receiver Tyler Hyman had two touchdown receptions — one from DeMato — and one from sophomore Anthony Brown.

St. John Vianney will conclude its season on Nov. 27 at Matawan (6-3). Keyport has finished its season.
