Junior midfielder Montana Sutton notched a hat trick and junior Lucy Grey added a goal Monday to help the Bernards High School girls soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Verona.

Brooke Savoye finished with two assists for the Mountaineers (4-1), while Sarah Ryan and Nicole Sullivan each registered two saves to share Bernards’ fourth shutout.

Wardlaw-Hartridge 7, New Brunswick 0: Taylor Gerhart struck for two goals and two assists as Wardlaw-Hartridge scored six times in the first half to pull away. Brianna Crawley and Alex Garces each contributed a goal and an assist for the Rams (3-1).

Sussex Tech 8, Somerset Tech 4: Ariel Conner scored twice, and Julia Heller and Harleen Singh each chipped in a goal, but Somerset Tech fell in the opening round of the NJTAC Tournament.

Mother Seton 2, Middlesex 1: Emily Walther tallied a first-half goal for Middlesex (0-4).

Carteret 5, Timothy Christian 0: Rebekah Avlies stopped 17 shots for the Tigers (3-1).

Cardinal McCarrick 6, Dunellen 1: Megan Kosta hit three times for Cardinal McCarrick.

Boys soccer

Timothy Christian 7, Woodbridge Academy 0: Zach Coyle posted four goals and an assist, while David Figueroa dished out three assists and Timothy Christian improved to 2-2.

South River 4, Wardlaw-Hartridge 2: Rolando Martinez scored two goals, and Glauber Ferreira and Fabio Lucas added goals to send South River.

Monroe 6, Piscataway 0: Mike Mischler and Corey Klaskin each tallied a goal and an assist to power Monroe.

Piscataway Tech 5, Cardinal McCarrick 1: Celin Rojas tallied two goals and an assist, and Juan Castro, Jeff Noyola and Sonny Garcia each added a score to power Piscataway Tech (1-1).

Princeton Day 6, South Hunterdon 0: Robert Tomenchok made 21 saves for South Hunterdon (0-5).

Field hockey

South Plainfield 4, Old Bridge 1: Shannon Hughes chalked up two goals and two assists and Charlotte Macchia scored two more for South Plainfield (4-0). For Old Bridge (0-2), Isabelle Vega scored in the second half.

Metuchen 1, Piscataway 0: Metuchen (1-1) outshot Piscataway (0-2-1) by a tally of 29-6. Chiefs goalie Hannah Isaacs made 25 saves.
