COLUMBIA – Freshman Emma Lander scored 18 points and had six rebounds to lead Crane to a 70-51 Class 2 state semifinal victory against Skyline today at the Hearnes Center on the campus of the University of Missouri.

Crane (28-3) moves on to Saturday’s 5 p.m. final where the Lady Pirates will play New Haven, last season’s Class 2 runner-up.

Crane’s lone senior, Maggie McMenamy, scored 10 points, and junior Allie Hagler had 11, including a crucial 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter to hold off Skyline, which had trimmed the lead to single digits.

The Lady Pirates, which start two freshmen and have seven on the roster, committed just five turnovers and forced nine.

Ashley Bishop scored 16 points to lead Skyline (25-6), which was outrebounded 38-22.
