The Central Valley Christian girls cross country team entered the Central Section championship meet as the top-ranked team in Division V and the Cavaliers lived up to that ranking.
The Cavaliers ran away with the Central Section Division V championship, putting up a perfect score of 15.
Gabby Satterlee led the Cavaliers by winning the Division V race with a time of 19 minutes, 9 seconds.
Teammate Shani Slabber took second place with a time of 19:10 and Annecheina Knevelbaard took third place with a time of 19:56.
The Cavaliers were the only Tulare County team to win a Central Section championship, but Satterlee wasn’t the only Tulare County runner to win an individual title.
Monache’s JoJo Zorn captured the Division II girls individual championship with a time of 18:12. Her closest competitor in the race was Madera South’s Jonnie Montano with a time of 19:03.
Monache finished in third place as a team in Division II.
In the boys Division II race, McFarland ran away with the championship with 52 points. Monache took second place with 80 points and Redwood took third with 95 points.
Reedley’s Jorge Perez was the individual Division II boys champion with a time of 15:41. McFarland’s Luis Orozco took second with a time of 15:53, Redwood’s Adam Gonzalez finished third with a time of 15:54 and El Diamante’s Jacob Bilvado was fourth, also with a time of 15:54.
Bilvado was the defending Division II champion.
The Exeter girls took second place in Division IV with 112 points, finishing behind Kerman (47).
Sarah Reid was Exeter’s top runner, finishing second place in the Divsion IV race with a time of 20:02. Corcoran’s Rosalba Gomez won with a time of 19:28.
The Exeter boys took third place behind Corcoran and Rosamond.
