THE WINNER: Lindsay Allen


School: St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Point guard
Height: 5-foot-8

Athletic achievement: She led the Cadets to a 27-1 record and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship this past season. Allen averaged 16 points, eight assists, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while shooting at 82 percent from free throw line. A 2013 McDonald’s High School All-American Game selection and a 2013 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America Game invitee, she scored a game-high 28 points and was 16-for-16 on free throws in St. John’s 67-66 win over Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) in the WCAC championship game.

Academic excellence: Allen has maintained a 4.04 GPA.

Exemplary character: A devoted parishioner in her church community, she has volunteered locally on behalf of Shepherd’s Table, providing meals and clothing for families in need.


“Lindsay Allen is a very determined basketball player who understands her worth to a team,” said Edythe White, head coach at Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.). “She can get the job done and embraces all that comes along with being the go-to person.”

THE FUTURE: Allen will attend Notre Dame.
