Dale, Bonnafon post big numbers in playoff wins for Ringgold and Trinity

By

Slade Dale already has a future in college baseball, but thanks to a big game Friday, his high school football team has a win in the playoffs for the first time.

Dale, who hit .405 with seven homers, 33 RBIs, 18 doubles and 14 stolen bases as a junior shortstop last spring for Ringgold, Ga., has said he plans to sign a baseball letter-of-intent at Georgia. Friday, he threw three touchdown passes and ran for four to lead the Tigers to a 55-54 comeback defeat of North Hall (Gainesville) in the AAA playoffs. It was the Tigers' sixth playoff game (the school opened in 1934), but their first postseason victory.

Ringgold, located in the Northwest corner of Georgia, had to rebuild its baseball and football fields after they were hit by a tornado in 2011.
