LOOMIS, CA – For the Del Oro Golden Eagles, it’s not about wins or loses; it’s just about getting better.
That’s a good thing because the Golden Eagles have quite a tough schedule right out of the gate, playing Logan (Union City), Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks), and Concord’s De La Salle – historically one of the top programs in the nation, before any facing any league teams.

However, Coach Casey Taylor isn’t worried, believes that his team may just have the right pieces this year.
“We may have one of the best collections of lineman the Golden Eagles have had,” Taylor said. “Our ultimate goal is to win the section title,” Taylor went on to say.
With a team that suffered early on last year, but managed to make the third round of the Division Three finals, the Golden Eagles certainly have a chip on their shoulder. This season, Del Oro has a talented group of seniors aiming to motivate the rest of the team. Senior Tight End Tyler Meeter said he has to lead.
“We’ve got a lot of seniors right now and we got to show the junior’s how it’s done,” Meeter said.
Tanner Woods, junior offensive lineman for the Golden Eagles agreed, saying being a senior is a great feeling but there’s still plenty of responsibility.
“It’s absolutely important for the seniors to set the tone for everything,” Woods said. “we want to be the best so we play the best.”
The Del Oro Golden Eagles start the season off in week zero at home versus Logan High School.
