As soon as he was named to the All-State Coaches game we knew what would happen.

Of course Alex Terpstra’s team would win the championship.

“It never gets old, you always have to represent wherever you go,” said Terpstra.

The Denver Christian graduate wins. It’s that simple. A 2A state basketball championship in March. That’s a repeat after winning it all his junior season as well. Then to cap it off: a 2A state baseball championship just a few weeks ago.

“It was awesome getting 2 rings my senior year, getting 1 last year, it was just incredible,” Terpstra told 9NEWS.

The all-star win in Alamosa isn’t quite a state title, but a fitting final high school result for Terpstra.

“I’ve been dreaming about this ever since I was a little kid. Going to Denver Christian and seeing all their state titles and being one of those guys that could hang a banner up on the wall and I’m proud that I could represent Denver Christian and everything,” said Terpstra.

Alex will play basketball and baseball next year at Dordt College in Iowa. It’s a good bet they’ll have some success over the next four years.
