» Teams: East Lee County, Ida Baker, Lehigh, South Fort Myers
» Outlook: The South Fort Myers Wolfpack, coming off a 10-2 season in 2012, have the makings not just of a team destined to win a district championship but a team capable of making a state playoff run. South Fort Myers defeated Mariner in a preseason game Friday 58-7 after scoring 30 unanswered points in the first quarter. Quarterback Keith Smith will guide a diverse offense behind a behemoth offensive line. South has Division I prospects on defense in linebacker D’Ronzjiah Matthews and defensive back Tah’Ron Fuller. With East Lee County having lost 23 seniors from last year’s team, and with Lehigh continuing to rebuild under second-year coach Nate Sund, look for coach Brian Conn’s Ida Baker Bulldogs to give South its biggest challenge for the district crown. The Bulldogs defeated Bishop Verot 61-0 on Friday in a preseason game in which junior quarterback Sage Attwood displayed poise in the pocket as a passer and breaking out as a runner. The Bulldogs also have large linemen and a solid ground game in Johnny Garrow and Alex Febles.
» Predicted order of finish: 1. South Fort Myers, 2. Ida Baker, 3. East Lee County, 4. Lehigh
