Tampa, Florida — Things got off to a great start for the Alonso Ravens Friday night as they jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over Jefferson High on a 23-yard scamper from running back Ish Witter. Unfortunately, that was as good as it would get for the Ravens.

Just a few minutes later, the Jefferson Dragons awoke from their slumber, and rattled off 41 unanswered points. In the first quarter, the Dragons took an 8-7 lead after converting a 2-point conversion following a 15-yard QB-keeper from Deiondre Porter.
In the 2nd quarter, Porter connected with Derrick Ingram to put Jefferson up 15-7. But then the Dragons defense got on the board with a “pick six” from Juwuan Brown who took it back 70 yards. And just before half, Deiondre Porter found Ventell Bryant for a 20-yard touchdown.
Coming out of the half, the Jefferson Dragons continued their offensive outburst with a 24-yard burst from Mondreas Lofton. But before the quarter was out Deiondre Porter went deep and threw a bomb to Chavez Pownell for an 88-yard touchdown.
In the 4th quarter, neither team could find the end-zone as the Jefferson Dragons won convincingly 41-7 in week one of high school football.
