Hey, look! Dwight Howard and Houston Rockets teammate Chandler Parsons attended a high school football game in Richmond, Texas, last night. That’s pretty cool.
Why were they there, you ask? Because a George Ranch player reached out to Dwight on Twitter. Seriously.
Here’s how it went down:
@21bcross where’s that at. I might show up
– Dwight Howard (@DwightHoward) September 26, 2013
@DwightHoward 930 E. Stadium Dr. Rosenberg Tx 77471 come sit on the visitor side in all white and I’m #24 on George Ranch

When @DwightHoward come y’all can not surround before, during and maybe after if he wants but chill please EVERYBODY!!!!
– Cross (@21bcross) September 26, 2013
Any time Dwight Howard says he might do something, there’s good reason to be skeptical, but he did wind up going to the game.
@DwightHoward Thank you so much for coming to our game and supporting us im #24 and last name Cross

My bad @DwightHoward I didnt know @ChandlerParsons twitter name but Thank you both and I will

(You’re excused for not knowing Chandler Parsons’ Twitter name.)
The lesson from all this? For one, Dwight Howard is a good dude. Also, be sure to let your favorite pro athlete know about your next game. There’s a chance, however small, that he or she will actually show up.
