At Spencer-Van Etten, Luis Schreiber and Ben Schanbacher each scored in the final eight minutes as the Spencer-Van Etten boys soccer team rallied twice to beat Notre Dame 4-3 on Monday in the Interscholastic Athletic Conference and remain undefeated at 7-0 overall.
Trailing 2-0 in the second half on goals by Connor Bayne and Alec Cutler, S-VE tied it with goals by Schanbacher and Schreiber. Mike Woglom scored with 14 minutes remaining for a 3-2 Crusaders lead, but Schanbacher tied it with eight minutes remaining at 3, then Schreiber scored 90 seconds later.
Lorenzo Garrone made 12 saves for the Panthers, who were outshot 22-10. Ben Roehlke had five saves for Notre Dame.
IAC Volleyball
Newark Valley 3, Odessa-Montour 0: Cassie Robinson had six kills as Newark Valley won 25-18, 25-15, 26-24. Aryana Wang added six assists and Sami Short four kills for the Cardinals (5-2).
Trumansburg 3, Moravia 0: Shawnee Baker had eight aces and both Olivia Colon and Destiny Price had six aces as Trumansburg won 25-7, 25-3, 25-6. Brianne Avery added 13 assists in the win.
STAC Golf
Ithaca 223, Corning 242: At Robert Trent Jones golf course at Cornell, John Peterson led the Little Red with a 6-over 42 to earn medalist honors. Collyn Shippos followed with a 43 and Alex Hepburn was the low scorer for Corning with a 43 as well.
