The East Brunswick High School softball team, last year’s runner-up, earned the top seed in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, which was seeded at South Plainfield High School on Friday morning.
Bishop Ahr received the second seed, J.P. Stevens was awarded the third seed, and defending champion Monroe garnered the fourth seed.
The tournament begins Monday with five preliminary-round games followed by first-round action on Wednesday, with the higher seeded team hosting both rounds.
Beginning with Super Saturday (round of 16) on May 18, all games will take place at South Plainfield High School.
The quarterfinals will be contested May 22, the semifinals on May 25, and the finals on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
