Mitchell Markert ran for 201 yards and three touchdowns and Hunter Messerschmidt added a 33-yard score as Winneconne knocked off Ripon 35-22 at Ripon on Friday to become eligible for the WIAA playoffs.
The Wolves won their final two regular-season games to finish with a 4-4 mark in the Eastern Valley Conference. Teams that finish above .500 automatically qualify for the WIAA football playoffs, while teams that finish at the mark are taken to fill out the seven-division field.
The Wolves finished with 392 yards on the ground total and 412 total yards.
Ripon got touchdowns from Tanner Stangl and Landon Fenner in the second quarter to knot the score at 14-14 at halftime.
But Winneconne responded with a pair of scores in the third quarter, getting runs of five and 87 yards by Markert.
Mitchel Fenrich then hit Riley Kallas with a 23-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth as the Wolves pulled away.

At Appleton, Nate Nelson ran for 117 yards on 14 carries to power the Comets offense, scoring on runs of nine, 59, five and six yards.
Nate Jensen added 84 yards on 13 carries as Waupaca finished with 213 yards on the ground. Jensen also threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Neidert.
The Comets were opportunistic on defense as Alex Grall, Trysten Hazen, Bryce Neidert and Nick Jeske intercepted passes.
