COLUMBUS – Elgin junior Kyle Hall rolled the second-highest single game score ever in the seven-year history of the Ohio High School Athletic Association boys state bowling tournament Saturday at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.
Hall rolled a 288 in the middle game of his three-game set, throwing strikes on his first 10 shots.
Hall sandwiched games of 176 and 179 around his big game to total 643 which tied him for third place in the state in the individual portion of the boys tourney.
Michael Davidson of Versailles won the event with a 664.
Cardington-Lincoln’s team finished fifth out of eight Friday in the girls tournament.
Coldwater won the team event.
Esther Elliott was the highest placer for Cardington as she finished fourth with 602 pins in the individual competition.
Morgan Edgell (fifth, 600), Austin Elliott (16th, 558), Taylor Diamond (57th, 473) and Morgan Walker (82nd, 328) also bowled for the Lady Pirates.
North Union’s Stormie Jamison finished 73rd with a 432 series.
Erika Hartings from Coldwater was the individual champ with a 648.
State gymnastics: Harding’s Lindsey places 14th in all around
HILLIARD – Marion Harding’s Ashleigh Lindsey placed 14th in all around with a score of 35.775 Saturday in the state gymnastics meet at Hilliard Bradley High School.
Lindsey placed sixth on floor exercises (9.350), eighth on beam (9.1), 21st on vault (9.025) and 29th on beam (8.3).
There were 36 girls competing in the meet.
