Fairview beat Pomona 33-30 in a North Metro league game Friday night at the North Area Athletic Complex in Arvada.
Jonathan Swartzwelter hit a 27 yard field goal as time expired to give the Knights the victory. Pomona trailed 30-16 late in the game but a Chris Marquez touchdown in the 4th quarter tied the game at 30 and set up Fairview’s game winning drive.
Fairview clinches the North Metro title with the victory. They could still end up tied with Pomona but now the Knights have the head-to-head tie breaker.
The Knights are now (7-0, 4-0) and will look to finish the regular season undefeated when they take on rival Boulder next week.
Pomona falls to (6-2, 3-1) and will finish the season against Arvada West.
