Red Bank Catholic junior midfielder Grace Fallon handed out a school single-game record nine assists and netted three goals, leading the Caseys’ girls lacrosse team past Northern Burlington, 22-9, in an NJSIAA South Jersey Group II quarterfinal Tuesday.

Fallon broke the previous record of eight set by Lyndsey DeMarco in 2005. Fallon notched five assists in the first half as the Caseys (20-2) advanced to the semifinals against Rumson on Thursday.

Maeve Cowley netted a game-high five goals, including four in the first half, propelling the Caseys to an 11-4 lead. Amanda Casten added four goals and one assist.

Red Bank Catholic tied the school’s single-season wins record. The Caseys have posted back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in the history of the program, which started in 1998.

RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN 18, ROBBINSVILLE 1: Nicolette Dunphy had three goals and one assist, Bridget Curran had three goals and Abigael Donohue had three goals and two assists as the No. 3 seed Bulldogs (17-5) defeated No. 6 seed Robbinsville in a South Jersey Group II game.

Morgan Steinhacker added two goals and Maddie Mullen made six saves.


MANCHESTER 15, BRICK 11: Senior midfielder Sydney Cacek netted five goals, including the 100th of her career, for the Hawks (8-13) in their nondivisional win over the Green Dragons (3-16).

Cacek reached the milestone with an unassisted goal from eight meters. She has scored 102 career goals.


MONROE 13, FREEHOLD TWP. 10: Dan Bloodgood had one goal and one assist in the fourth quarter and finished with three goals and one assist as the No. 3 seed Patriots (15-3) fell to the No. 6 seed Falcons (13-8) in a South Group IV game.

Billy Sasso added three goals and Stephen O’Brien had two goals and Justin Albarran and Sean Koubek each had one goal and one assist. Todd Bitsko made 11 saves.

JACKSON MEMORIAL 15, SOUTH BRUNSWICK 3: Evan Farrar had six goals and one assist, Mike Balsamo had three goals and Troy Wolf and Mike Specht each had one goal and four assists as the No. 2 seed Jaguars (14-2) defeated the No. 10 seed Vikings (8-7) in a South Group IV game. Cody Wiesel made 15 saves.

SOUTHERN 14, EGG HARBOR 5: Junior attackman Brendan Mullen scored a career-high five goals including the 100th goal of his career and sophomore attackman Dylan Jinks scored three goals including the 100th of his career as the top-seeded Rams (16-1) edged the No. 8 seed Eagles (14-6) in a South Group IV game. Senior attackman Tyler Lipositz added two goals and five assists and sophomore goalie Brendan LeFanto made nine saves.

RUMSON-FH 12, SHORE 8: Michael Clarke had six goals and three assists, Colin Shea and Mike Villane each added two goals and one assist as the top-seeded Bulldogs (16-2) defeated the No. 8 seed Blue Devils (13-5) in a South Group I game.

Dominic Padula added one goal and one assist and Dylan Rotchford made seven saves; Shore’s Jesse Phalanukorn had five goals and goalie Andrew Johnsen made 14 saves.


CBA 2, RB CATHOLIC 0: Doug Dzema’s five blocks, four digs and 20 assists propelled the fifth-seeded Colts (19-8) past the No. 12 Caseys (13-9) in Central first-round play.

John Gatens added eight kills, two aces and two digs. Nick Osborne contributed eight kills. Ryan Farley keyed the Caseys with five digs and 12 assists. Pat Drum added five kills, two blocks and two digs.

The Colts will visit Hillsborough 4 p.m. today in the second round.

TR SOUTH 2, PLEASANTVILLE 0: Joe Esposito’s 17 assists and six aces led the sixth-seeded Indians (18-5) past the No. 11 Greyhounds (9-9) in the South first round.

Alek Purpuro added three klls and two blocks. Scott Stueber and Trevor Signorino contributed five kills each.

South will trek to No. 3 Williamstown 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the second round.

EAST BRUNSWICK 2, COLTS NECK 0: The 15th-seeded Cougars’ season ended at 10-12 with a loss to the No. 2 Bears in Central first-round play.

Joe Schecter paced Colts Neck with nine digs. Jack Lind added four digs and four kills. Tommy O’Reilly contributed two blocks and three kills.

OLD BRIDGE 2, WALL 0: The 14th-seeded Crimson Knights ended their season at 15-6 with a loss to the No. 3 Knights (20-8) in Central first-round action.

Mike Smith paced Wall with 11 assists.

NNEY 0: Tom Corbisiero posted two assists and11 digs for the No. 16 Lancers (13-8) in their loss to the No. 1 Falcons in first-round Central play.

CENTRAL 0: Ambrose Poweoll finished with four kills, two digs and two aces for the No. 9 Golden Eagles (9-8) in their setback to the No. 8 Dragons (17-9) in first-round Central activity.
