The Lake Shore Boys Varsity Soccer team opened their season in style with a 5-1 victory over Springville in the Danny Durrick tournament hosted by Tonawanda. AJ Bergum opened the scoring for the season with a perfectly placed long range shot off a nice assist from Brian Mitchell. Chris Beckley scored twice and set up another goal for Lake Shore, with captain Wade Bergum and Kenny Pierce adding assists. Kenny Pierce also added a goal of his own, and Shaun Duffey closed out the scoring. The Eagles play West Seneca West in the championship match of this early season tournament on Saturday, August 31st.

Senior Kenny Pierce scored the golden goal with five minutes remaining in the second overtime. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton recorded the shutout. The Eagles record now stands at 2-1 and the team plays it’s first league game Friday at East Aurora.

Senior captain Wade Bergum scored twice for the Eagles and added an assist. Max Matthews scored a beautiful goal and added two assists as well. Kenny Pierce scored and also had an assist for Lake Shore. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton played well in goal and recorded the shutout. Jerry Yeates, Adam Pisarski, Andrew McDonagh, Chris Jakiel, and Tom McTernan all defended strongly and helped keep the clean sheet. The Eagles league record now stands at 1-1 and 3-2 overall. Lake Shore next plays at Maryvale on Friday, September 13th.
The Eagles of Lake Shore lost at Maryvale 2-0 on Friday, September 13th to drop their league record to 1-2 and overall record to 3-3. Lake Shore battled hard but were unable to finish their chances. The Eagles next play Monday, September 16th at Cheektowaga.

The Eagles controlled the play from the opening whistle and were able to finish many of their chances. Senior Kenny Pierce continued his impressive season by adding two more goals for his team leading fifth goal of the season. Senior captain Wade Bergum also scored twice, while AJ Bergum tallied the Eagles other goal. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton played in goal for the shutout. Shaun Duffey scored the games only goal off a corner kick from AJ Bergum with ten minutes remaining for the win. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton played well in net for the shutout, raising the Eagles’ league record to 4-2 and 6-3 overall. Lake Shore next plays Monday verses East Aurora.

The Eagles fought hard in this tough divisional match-up, but ultimately fell short. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton turned in a very strong game in defeat, turning away 16 East Aurora shots. Senior captain Wade Bergum also played well and created many close scoring chances. Andrew McDonagh, Jerry Yeates, Max Eastman, and Max Matthews also all defended particularly well throughout the match. AJ Bergum also worked hard up top and pressured East Aurora’s back line. The Eagles league record now stands at 4-3 and 6-4 overall. Lake Shore next plays on Thursday, October 3rd at Springville.

Lake Shore controlled much of the possession but had to fight for it’s goals against a hard working Springville side. The Eagles league record now stands at 5-3 and 7-4 overall. Lake Shore next plays host to Pioneer on Monday, October 7th in it’s Breast Cancer Awareness match.

Pioneer scored the first two goals of the match while Lake Shore scored with seven minutes left and pressured Pioneer until time expired, but ultimately the Eagles ran out of time. Wade Bergum scored the Eagles lone goal on a strong finish off of a direct kick. Lake Shore’s league record now stands at 5-4 and 7-5 overall. The team next plays host to Maryvale on Wednesday.
The Lake Shore Boys Varsity Soccer team defeated visiting Cheektowaga by a score of 6-1 on senior night on Friday, October 11th. Senior captain Wade Bergum scored four goals and assisted on two others in the lopsided win. Senior captain Bryce Parker-Norton played the field and opened the scoring in the first minute. Jake Cozzo scored the other Eagle goal, and Andrew McDonagh and Tom McTernan added assists in the match with Mike Braeuner playing well in goal. Lake Shore’s league record now stands at 7-4 in league play and 9-5 overall. The Eagles will conclude their regular season schedule with a night game on Wednesday, October 16th at Amherst.
The Lake Shore Boys Varsity Soccer team advanced to the semifinals in sectional play by defeating visiting Lew-Port 3-0 on Wednesday, October 23rd. Wade Bergum opened the scoring in the sixteenth minute off a nice pass from Max Eastman; then Wade Bergum doubled the Lake Shore lead with another strong shot in the sixtieth minute off an assist from Kenny Pierce. AJ Bergum closed the scoring minutes later off a great run and cross from Chris Beckley. Bryce Parker-Norton preserved the clean sheet with many nice saves on the sloppy night. The Eagles will next face Riverside on Saturday, October 26th with a trip the sectional finals on the line.
