Elkhorn 2, Fond du Lac 1; Fond du Lac 3, Racine Park 2: The Cardinals kicked off their schedule Tuesday at the Racine Case Invitational, going 1-1 on the day.
Two Elkhorn goals within the first 12 minutes doomed Fondy in the first game, while two second-half goals from Brock Lisowe powered it past Racine Park.
Lisowe also scored in the second half against Elkhorn, while Casey McArdle netted a penalty kick in the fifth minute against Racine.
Ian Tess-Wanat made six total saves on the day.
“In the first game we played well but made two defensive mistakes early,” Cardinals coach Greg Winkler said. “Played a pretty good second half, but just couldn’t finish. This tournament is a good early-season test. We found out we have a lot of work to do.”
Fond du Lac continues tournament play today.
