For the second straight season, and for the third time in four years, the Millbrook High School football team has claimed the Section 9 Class C Division 2 championship.
Saturday’s 30-14 victory at Liberty secured the latest title for the Blazers, who got 244 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries — and a pair of conversions — from Henry Cardinal.
“They were happy we won but not ecstatic,” said head coach Sean Keenan, referring to his Blazers (6-0 overall, 3-0 division). “I honestly don’t think we’ve played a full four quarters yet this season.”
Delvin Wood carried the ball twice — both runs went for touchdowns — and totaled 81 yards on the ground, while Devón Jackson ran in two conversions. Reggie Colley completed 4 of 7 pass attempts for 91 yards.
The Blazers’ Jacob Higgins had 13 tackles and Connor O’Donnell 11.
Millbrook hosts Dover on Friday.
