One of the toughest football conferences in the state just got a whole lot tougher.
Valor Christian, winners of five straight state championships, will play in the Centennial League for at least the next two years. The Eagles join Cherokee Trail, Cherry Creek, Eaglecrest, Grandview and Overland.
That means that next year four of the 16 quarterfinal teams from the 2013 bracket will all play in the same league (Valor, Cherokee Trail, Cherry Creek and Grandview).
The Eagles have won the previous two 5A state football championships. Those titles came after consecutive 4A championships and one in 3A.
Valor Christian will play in the 4A JeffCo league in all sports outside of football.
