Former Eagleville standout Jernigan named freshman of year in Mid-South Conference

LEBANON, Tenn.

Cumberland University’s Nathan Jernigan was voted the Mid-South Conference West Division Freshman of the Year.

Jernigan, a former Eagleville High standout, led the Bulldogs with 66 tackles.

He finished with nine stops and two interceptions at Reinhardt University on Nov. 9, helping him earn Mid-South Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The linebacker and Eagleville native added 8.0 tackles for loss with one sack, four total interceptions, three pass breakups, one quarterback hurry and one forced fumble while starting 10 games this season.
