Phillipsburg 31, Franklin 7: Joe Maso picked up 123 yards on the ground with a touchdown and Taji Lowe ran back an interception 86 yards for a score as the Stateliners scored 31 unanswered points from the first whistle to dump Franklin in Mid-State 38 Delaware Division play Friday night in Phillipsburg.

Liners quarterback Tyler Troxell completed 7 of 12 passes for 130 yards, and wideout Anthony Guarino hauled in four catches for 89 yards and added a rushing TD.

Franklin’s Trevor Smith caught a 19-yard TD pass thrown by Darius Gibson with 28 ticks left to avoid the shutout. Gibson completed 9 of 13 passes for 103 yards.

Phillipsburg outgained the Warriors 241-32 on the ground and 372-149 overall.

Phillipsburg (2-0) will play host to Westfield while Franklin (0-2) will entertain Immaculata next weekend.
