DIVISON TWO BRACKET:

From top to bottom, the D-II is arguably the toughest bracket in this year’s section playoffs.

After a slow start because of a tough schedule, the Del Oro Golden Eagles (8-2) take the top seed in D-II after going undefeated in the Sierra Foothill League. An impressive season and a league title byRio Linda earned the Knights (9-1) a number two seed. Elk Grove (9-1), Yuba City (9-1), and Grant (7-3) round out the top five.

Favorite: Del Oro Golden Eagles – an experienced team and former championwho fought their way to the semifinals asthe 15th seed last season.Maybe the toughest team mentallyin section after squeaking out wins over Grant, Granite Bay and Rocklin.

Sleeper: 10th seeded Rocklin (7-3)who lost to Del Oro by only one pointto finish second in the SFL.

DIVISION THREE BRACKET:

The D-III bracket maybe another division that is up for grabs.

American Canyon (9-1) takes the top seed led by a vicious ground attack that racked up more 300 yards per game. The MantecaBuffaloes (9-1) take the number two seed, followed by Inderkum, Patterson, and Sacramento with the 5th seed.

Favorite: Call this a toss up between American Canyon and Manteca. Both teams’ only losses were by one point to top programs. The Wolves fell to Stagg 36-35, the Buffaloes fell to Wilcox (Santa Clara) 28-27.

Sleeper: Hard to be a sleeper when you are the #3 Seed, but Head Coach Terry Stark and the Inderkum Tigers (8-2) are due for a shot at a championship title.

DIVISION FOUR BRACKET:

The D-IV bracket may have caused a bit of controversy with undefeated Hilmar (10-0) earning the number two seed behind #1Central Catholic (9-1). Capital Christian, Ripon, and Calaveras round out the top five.

Favorite: Hard to go against an undefeated team in the Hilmar Yellowjackets, but the divison belongs to the defendingD-IVStateBowlChampionCentral Catholic Raiders.

Sleeper: The Center Cougars (7-3) showcase one of the fastest and more athletic teams in the division.

DIVISION FIVE BRACKET:

Undefeated Le Grand (10-0) leads the D-V bracket and will have a bye during the first week of the playoffs along with #2 Mariposa.
