The Bell Game
Tonight, the national spotlight isn’t on a Super 25 team. It isn’t on a big school. And it isn’t on Texas or California or Florida. It’s in the small town of Brookfield, Mo., where the Bell Game is being played for the first time since being voted on as USA TODAY High School Sports’ best high football rivalry.
We’ve been reporting live from Brookfield for the past two days, and will continue to do so throughout the night.

The Pleasure Park (Louisville, Ky.) and Manual game was postponed tonight.

The game will be played Saturday at 7:30pm. No one was injured in the incident.
Pleasure Park’s principal Dave Johnson explains:
Prank gone too far?
Richardson (Texas) police are investigating a dead goat that was found hanging on the Berkner High School practice field’s goal post this morning. Berkner plays at rival Plano East tonight. Plano Schools spokeswoman Lesley Range-Stanton told the Dallas Morning News that the school district is not involved in the investigation.

Forfeits and Cancellations
Bowie (Md.) and Westlake (Waldorf, Md.) forfeited their scheduled games against Lackey and C.H. Flowers, respectively, after both teams were involved in an on-field fight last week. Meanwhile, many teams in Colorado have had their games canceled or postponed due to rain of “biblical proportions.”

We’ve got an early nominee for the next round of Plays of the Week and it comes from California, where Jacob Zinda returned an interception 109 yards for a touchdown last night.
That’s a lot of flags
