Oakland had two top-10 finishes in the finals of the Tennessee State Swim meet Friday on the opening day of the two-day meet held in Knoxville.

Oakland’s girls 200-yard medley relay team of Aubrey Grensing, Lainey Massaro, Gentry Grensing and Megan Kelly placed sixth in the 200 medley relay in 1:50.45.

Aubrey Grensing also placed eighth in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 57.42.

Oakland also had a boys relay and two individuals compete in the finals.

The Oakland boys 200 medley relay team of Eli Leskinen, Josh Dunkley, Hank Massaro and Patrick Kelly finished 12th in 1:41.35. Hank Massaro was 12th in the 100 butterfly in 53.84. And Lainey Massaro was 13th in the 200 IM in 2:12.13.

The state meet will conclude today.

Girls Basketball

Oakland 66, Smyrna 46

Ellen Riggins had 15 points to lead Oakland, while Emily Eubank had 13 and Kaitlin Oliver 11. Smyrna got 19 points from Kayla Hunt, eight from Treasure Hunt and six from Jasmine Neal.

Siegel 31, La Vergne 25

Maddie Francescon led Siegel with 13 points, and Paris Lawson had seven. Teonickia Baugh scored eight to lead La Vergne, while Latoya Darby added six.

Cascade 60, Eagleville 40

Nicole Duke had 18 points for the Lady Eagles, who were eliminated in the Distrcit 9-A tournament. Kristin Barnes added nine points.

Boys Basketball

Siegel 67, La Vergne 65

Damine Clark had 13 points, Aden Burton and Ryan Jones had 12 each, and Charles Clark had 11 for Siegel. Isaiah Reese had 20 for La Vergne, and Marquis Johns added 12.

Oakland 72, Smyrna 63

Kyle Oliver poured in 28 points to lead the Patriots, Devin Epps scored 14 and Emmanuel Smith added a dozen. Taylor Vanderbilt led Smyrna with 19 points, while B.J. McGuire had 15 and Manny Woodard 13.

Cannon Co. 71, Smith Co. 61

Cory Henley’s 20 points led Cannon County, while Jarrett Melton had 16 and Tommy Mitchell 15.

Livingston Acad. 82, Central 52

Wes Patrick led Central with 12 points.
