HAMBURG, N.Y.-Frontier beat Orchard Park 17-7 Friday night at Frontier. With the win the Falcons earn their first trip to Ralph Wilson Stadium since 1984.
Falcons head coach Tim Myslinski told Two On Your Side’s Stu Boyar “it was a blue collar day for a blue collar team on a blue collar field. We brought our lunch pail and went to work. Its a great group of kids that have put in countless hours and it was great to see their hard work pay off. “
Orchard Park opened the scoring at the 5:44 mark of the first quarter on a 16 yard DeSean Walker touchdown run. Walker was held to 51 yards on 13 carries. Frontier answered that when Ken Kahler scored on a 45 yard run in the first quarter. The game remained tied at 7 until the third quarter.
The play of the game came at the 3:02 mark of the third quarter. Frontier’s Paul Brinkel returned a punt 83 yards for what turned out to be the winning touchdown. .
Frontier quarterback Tyler Gaglia was 5 for 10 for 58 yards. Orchard Park’s Kevin Goltz was 7 for 23 for 76 yards. Frontier’s Cam Coon ran 18 times for 86 yards and Kahler carried 9 times for 74 yards. AJ Cannon added a 45 yard field goal for Frontier.
Frontier will play Jamestown for the Section 6 Class AA championship next Saturday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
