Frontier and Carroll easily advanced to the second round of the Indiana Kitchen Classic girls basketball tournament Monday night at Delphi.
In the opener, the Falcons held Clinton Central to five second-half points after holding just an eight-point lead at halftime. Catie Neary had nine of her game-high 18 points in the second half for Frontier (1-1). Brynleigh Jensen and Abbie Mikesell each contributed nine points. Mikesell scored all of hers in the fourth quarter to help Frontier pull away.
Caitlyn Bradley led Clinton Central (1-1) with 11 points.
Carroll advanced to a Friday night semifinal against Frontier thanks to the 1-2 scoring punch of sophomore Libby Eller and freshman Macy Willoughby.
Eller had a game-high 16 points, shooting 4 of 10 from 3-point range for the Cougars (2-0). Willoughby added 14 points. Bailey Worl contributed nine points and a team-high six rebounds.
Audrey Minix had 11 points and seven rebounds to lead North White (0-2).
