Point Pleasant Beach took command of the Shore Conference Class B Central race with a 47-20 win over visiting Shore Regional on Wednesday night.
The Garnet Gulls (9-2, 3-0) moved into first place, while the Blue Devils (6-4, 3-1) dropped to second place.
Point Beach won the first three bouts to take a 17-0 lead as Giancarlo Crivelli (120) and James Finnerty (132) each recorded pins. Shore pulled to within 29-20 after a 1-0 win by Dave Musselman at 220, but the Garnet Gulls won the final three bouts, including a pin by Joe Wergryzniak (195), to clinch the match.
BRICK 54, TR NORTH 9: The visiting Green Dragons (7-2, 2-2) won the first five bouts to beat the Mariners (5-6, 2-5) in Class A South.
Brick seized control of the match early at 27-0 behind wins from Mark Bixenmann (160), Dan Wojtaszek (170), Ray Fattaruso (182), Nick Pagano (195) and Anthony Dzugan (220). Bixenmann, Fattaruso and Dzugan all recorded pins.
TR SOUTH 55, TR EAST 19: The visiting Indians (11-2, 4-1) opened with four straight pins and rolled to victory over the Raiders (0-7, 0-3) in Class A South.
Brandon Murray (126), Zachary Maikisch (132), Matt Theobold (138) and Tyler Dahradnik (145) all recorded pins as Toms River South took a 24-0 lead.
Bryant Clagon (160), Antres Clagon (170), Quentin DeCarlo (182) and Jesse Polozzo (220) also had pins for the Indians.
RARITAN 36, MIDDLETOWN SOUTH 18: The host Rockets (10-3) took a 22-4 lead en route to a nondivisional win over the Eagles (5-6).
The Rockets captured five of the first six bouts behind Eric Drake (106), Dylan Siedenberg (120), Anthony Scarcella (126), Jason Boncu (132) and Vin Masi (138), with Scarcella getting the lone pin in the run.
POINT BORO 33, BARNEGAT 27: The Panthers (8-1, 4-0) remained tied with Jackson Liberty in Class B South with a win over the visiting Bengals (8-4, 4-1).
Point Boro led 30-21 with two bouts left when the Panthers’ Kevin Kelly clinched the win at 170 with a 3-2 victory.
The Panthers also won the 120-, 126- and 132-pound bouts, scoring 17 of a possible 18 points for a 27-9 lead. Ryan Harter (120) and Daniel Nobbs (126) both recorded pins, while Ryan Budzek notched an 18-3 technical fall at 132.
JACKSON LIBERTY 48, MANCHESTER 27: Matt Russo (126), T.J. Liquori (160), Nick Zak (182), Justin Goodman (195), Mike McKenzie (220) and Mike Russo (120) all recorded pins to lead the Lions (6-3, 4-0) over the Hawks (5-6, 1-3) in Class B South.
William Meadows (138), Javier Holguin (170) and heavyweight Santos Natal had pins for Manchester.
