THE BASICS

School: Barr-Reeve (Montgomery, Ind.)
Grade: Senior
Height: 6-foot-3

Athletic achievement: He raced to the individual state championship this past season with a time of 15:21.3. Sorrells also won his sectional, regional and semi-state championships, and finished first at the South Knox Invitational, the Prides Creek Invitational and the Barr-Reeve Invitational.

Academic excellence: Sorrells has maintained a 4.07 GPA in the classroom.

Exemplary character: A devoted member of his church youth group and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he has volunteered locally on behalf of a school anti-drug program.

THE PRAISE

“Connor has shown great commitment, sacrifice, discipline and structure throughout the last four years to make himself an elite runner,” said Barr-Reeve coach JayR Perkins. “He’s been a blessing to coach.

THE FUTURE: Sorrells has verbally committed to an athletic scholarship at Furman University beginning this fall.\f
