Appleton East 53, Menasha 48

At Menasha, Mayra Villagomez scored a game-high 25, with 11 points in the first half and 14 in the second, to lead the Patriots.

The Bluejays pulled to within 50-48 but were forced to foul and East got its final three points at the line.

Katelyln Sewall led Menasha with 14 points and five steals. Zohne LaVell had nine rebounds and four blocks to go with her nine points.

Taylor Ball paced Kaukauna with 11 points, while Anna Gierach added 10.

“Our press was tough,” New London coach Troy Krause said. “We got a lot of turnovers and steals for layups, especially in the third quarter.”

The Lions jumped out to a 12-4 lead after one quarter before the Tigers battled back to within 20-15 at halftime and 32-30 after three periods. Then Brillion’s defense took over.

Claire Stiefvater poured in 23 points to lead Chilton.

At Manitowoc, Wrightstown held off the Jets despite hitting just one of five fourth-quarter free throws.

Megan Hansen led a balanced Wrightstown attack with 10 points.

The Tigers steadily built a 26-19 lead after three before Roncalli went on a 14-9 run in the fourth quarter to nearly steal the win. Alex Cliff paced the Jets with 12 points, while Lauren Clarke added 10.

Nicole Nadler, who had a game-high 16 points, including four three-pointers, did all of her scoring by the midpoint of the third quarter.

Stockbridge improved to 4-3 overall.
