The Arlington High School girls basketball team’s season ended on the road Wednesday with a 56-51 loss to fourth-seeded Ursuline in the Section 1 Class AA quarterfinals.
“I’m so proud of my kids,” Arlington coach Kim Costello said. “They played their hearts out today. I have no regrets. I was proud of the season we had this year.”
Arlington, the tournament’s fifth seed, ended the season 14-6.
During a tight game, Arlington’s Jackie Rywalt knocked down a 3-pointer to bring the Admirals within 49-48 of the Koalas. After Ursuline scored again, Jancy Sherwood hit a 3 to cut the deficit to 52-51 with 1:27 left in the game, but Arlington could get no closer.
Sarah Kaminsky scored a team-high 10 points for Arlington. Jocelyn Strack and Sherwood had nine points apiece. Bridget Thomas had seven points and 10 rebounds.
