At Waupaca, the Mustangs were outscored 14-11 in the first quarter but held the Comets to eight points the rest of the game for the win.

McJenna Joosten scored seven of her 10 points in the first quarter for Little Chute (3-0). Alaina Schepp also had 10 points.

Morgan Smith and Sierra Patzke each had six for Waupaca.

“We made it a point to defend their shots and try not to let them get good shots,” Xavier coach AC Clouthier said. “We just outmatched their intensity in the second quarter.”

Erin Powers scored 10 points to lead Xavier (3-0, 1-0), which had 12 players score. Taylor Carpenter led Clintonville with five points.
