Girls basketball roundup: Tech takes down Willmar, 62-35

St. Cloud Tech rolled to a 62-35 Central Lakes Conference win over Willmar Friday night at Tech High School.

Kaila Burroughs scored 16 points to lead the way for Tech (9-6 Central Lakes Conference, 15-10 overall) while Kaelyn Angell had 13 points and Sam Boettcher had nine points.

Tech led 34-15 at the half.

Courtney Magnuson topped the Cardinals with 12 points.

WILLMAR – Courtney Magnuson 12, Megan Rudnick 4, Anne Dunham 2, Sami Doering 7, Heather Horning 10.

TECH – Kaelyn Angell 13, Lizzy Krippner 8, Kaila Burroughs 16, Jill Kedrowski 4, Tiana Brown 7, Sam Boettcher 9, Anne Soenneker 5.

ALEXANDRIA – Junior center Amanda Christianson’s 24 points helped the Cardinals cruise to a Central Lakes Conference win.

Seniors Abby Notch and Alyssa Steve each finished with 13 points for the Eagles.

FERGUS FALLS – The Storm fell on the road to the Class 3A No. 1-ranked Otters.

ALBANY – Twelve different players scored for Albany Friday night as the Huskies rocked the Tigers.

Amazih Eickhoff led the Huskies with 19 points. Kayla Reber and Erin Navratil each had 12 points for Albany.

Captain Kayleigh Kloncz led Princeton with 16 points.

EDEN VALLEY – With a win on “Senior Night,” the Eagles secured a share of the Central Minnesota Conference title.

The Eagles were led by their three seniors in scoring with Missy Kummet tallying 12, Courtney Dilley 11 and Holly Schumacher eight.

The Eagles are 13-0 in the CMC and have a chance to win the conference outright with a win in the season finale against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

Joelle Ertl led Holdingford with 22 points.

KIMBALL 49,
ROCKFORD 38

KIMBALL – The Cubs tripped up the Rockets to get even in the Central Minnesota Conference standings.

Breane Meierhofer had a game-high 19 points to lead Kimball (6-7, 10-11) in the winning effort. Allie Seth pitched in 13 points for the Cubs.

Samantha Bagaason led Rockford (6-7, 11-13) with 11 points.

MAPLE LAKE 33

MAPLE LAKE – Chey Karels tallied 19 points to help the Lakers roll past the Irish.

Abby Miller notched 15 points and Mackenzie Uter added 14 in the winning effort. Rachel Latour led Maple Lake with 13 points.

PIERZ 72, B-B-E 52

BROOTEN – Kayla Carter had 20 points to lead Pierz.

Kinlee Swanson had 12 points to lead B-B-E (1-12 CMC, 6-18 overall).

DELANO 49, ANNANDALE 44

ANNANDALE – Alex Wittinger scored 14 points as Delano edged the Cardinals.

Kaytlin Kuefler led Annandale with 18 points.

Upsala 89,
West Central 60

BARRETT – Aimee Pelzer had 23 points and nine assists and Tracy Herzog had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Upsala (11-1 Prairie, 19-3 overall), ranked 10th in the state in Class A.

Kaelin Smieja added 14 points for the Cardinals.

LP-GE 78, ROYALTON 63

LONG PRAIRIE – Jenna Langer (29 points) and Sam Zastrow (27 points) contributed the bulk of the Thunder’s scoring in their win. Emily Fussy scored 22 to lead Royalton.

MELROSE 41, LQPV 34

MADISON – Taylor Reller had 16 points and Emily Goerdt added 12 in the win for the Dutchmen.

PAYNESVILLE 52,
YME 45

GRANITE FALLS – The Bulldogs pulled out a West Central Conference South Division win on the road.
