Girls basketball: South falls in Manitowoc

The Sheboygan South girls basketball team fell behind host Manitowoc Lincoln in the opening quarter and was never able to catch up in a 60-45 loss Tuesday night.

For much of the night, the Redwings struggled to break the Ships’ full-court press, committing 22 turnovers on the night.

“We were pretty sporadic. We started out a little sluggish as far as turning the ball over,” South head coach Tyler Thomas said. “We got better as the game went on, which was good for us.”

Hayley Primas posted a team-high 12 points for the Redwings.

“They figured out that they have to do their job. If they are in the right spot to take care of themselves, the team will be succesful,” Thomas said. “They saw that tonight, it’s good for us that they saw that.”
