Girls basketball: Szymanski propels Pulaski past Bay Port

PULASKI – Mariah Szymanski scored 10 of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter to propel Pulaski past Bay Port 44-34 in a Fox River Classic Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.

The Red Raiders (14-8, 10-6 FRCC)outscored Bay Port 16-2 in the opening quarter, but watched the Pirates cut the lead to four by halftime. Szymanski then converted seven of her nine free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Chelsea Nooker led Bay Port (18-4, 13-3) with 12 points.
