Girls basketball: TR tops Valders at home

Alexi Walesh’s game-high 22 points helped the Two Rivers girls basketball team to a 47-28 win over visiting Valders in a non-conference game on Saturday night.

The Raiders (6-1) built up a 12-point lead by the half.

Walesh also pulled down 11 rebounds. The 22 points were here highest total of the season. Walesh’s previous high of 20 was recorded against Kiel back on Dec. 19.

Walesh is first on her team second in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per contest.

Kenzie Walesh and Elena Garcia each added 10 points for TR.

Danelle Buck had nine points for Valders (2-4).

The Vikings return to the court Thursday when they travel to Wrightstown to take on the Tigers (1-4) in an Olympian Conference contest.

Two Rivers resumes Eastern Wisconsin Conference action when it hosts Waupun (4-4).
