Plymouth’s girls soccer team struck early, but not often enough in a 2-1 non-conference loss to West Bend East on Friday.
Becca Ebbott scored in the fourth minute to help push the Panthers to a quick start. But Plymouth never found the back of the net again, and couldn’t catch up after East scored a goal apiece in each half to escape with the comeback win.
“We played hard and with a lot of energy,” Plymouth coach Brad Feick said in a statement. “We got ahead early, but failed to maintain that lead. We generated quite a few outstanding scoring opportunities, but we just couldn’t convert them. We knock in a few of those early opportunities and it’s a different game.”
Sophie Hau and Kathryn Aukerman combined for four saves in Plymouth’s net. Sigrun Adalgeirsdottir lent an assist on Ebbott’s goal.
